The AIC’s Revelation series moves closer to the end of the series with Episode Twenty-two, The Harlot of Babylon and Her Beast, focused on Chapter 17.  There is only one new illustration, from Folio 43, the Bamberg Apocalypse, The Whore of Babylon.  As you see, the title follows the King James text while title follows the less inflammatory version used in the New King James Version. The episodes of Revelation: An Idealist Interpretation get harder to do as St. John moves toward the concluding chapters.  The subjects become more complex and include new images.  Episode Twenty-one, completed and uploaded earlier today, is focused on Chapters 15 and 16. Late yesterday, on my 73rd birthday, I uploaded a new installment in the Revelation: An Idealist Interpretation series.  The focus of Episode Twenty is Chapter 14, the Lamb and the 144 Thousand.  Among the illustrations are two graphics from the Bamberg Apocalypse, an early 11th Century illustrated manuscript of Revelation.  Also in the episode are the Christ Pantokrator icon (6th C.) Revelation – Episode 18 and Eleventh Sunday After Trinity

This week my iPad was replaced by Apple and I was able to complete production of Episode Eighteen in the Revelation: An Idealist Interpretation series.  The episode is focused on Chapter 13:1-10, the Beast with a Blasphemous Name.  The remaining verses in Chapter 13 will be discussed in Episode Nineteen.  St. John’s perspective is still earth, looking to heaven, when he receives a vision of the Beast with seven heads,each crowned,ten horns, and “on his head a blasphemous name.”   Watch Episode 18 Continue reading “Revelation – Episode 18 and Eleventh Sunday After Trinity”

This week’s Scripture readings are 1 Corinthians 12:1-11, St. Paul’s discourse on the Gifts of the Spirit, and Luke 19:41-47a, Jesus’ prophecy of the destruction of Jerusalem (see illustration at left) and St. Luke’s abbreviated account of the cleansing of the Temple. Revelation – Episode 17 and Ninth Sunday After Trinity

Episode 16 in Revelation: An Idealist Interpretation was uploaded to our You Tube channel yesterday.  The focus of this episode is Chapter 11, The Two Witnesses and the Seventh Trumpet.  In order to include all the verses in a single episode, this one runs longer than the usual AIC Bible Study series guideline, with a 33 minute running time.
